Did you know…YOU are not the sign under the constellation that all astrology tells you?

Did you know that technically, according to the traditional zodiac, YOU are not the sign under the constellation that all astrology tells you!

If You are a Libra Sun sign, for a long time now, in reality, you are born under the sign of Virgo instead! @.@

You are in fact, the sign and constellation behind it because of what is known as Stellar Parallax. What does this mean and how does it affect your life? What is Stellar Parallax?

In your life, actually the behavioral observations made by early cultures and the Greco/Roman astrology still apply but is it is thought that the cause is not because of the distant constellations but, instead, a much closer and relevant heavenly body, our own solar system, the planets, moons, our placement as our planet orbits the Sun, which is also a star and more.

As such, the names change but the personality qualities and analysis done by astrologers and heavenly body influences is still seem to be the same in the western astrological traditions.

What is Stellar Parallax?

Stellar Parallax :

Stellar parallax the difference in direction of a celestial object as seen by an observer from two widely separated points. The measurement of parallax is used directly to find the distance of the body from the Earth (geocentric parallax) and from the Sun (heliocentric parallax). The two positions of the observer and the position of the object form a triangle; if the base line between the two observing points is known and the direction of the object as seen from each has been measured, the apex angle (the parallax) and the distance of the object from the observer can be found simply.”  (1)

Circle Casting

An example of how to cast a circle before performing a Wiccan magick spell or ritual.
This circle casting makes use of invoking pentagrams.
Check out the accompanying circle closing.

On your altar, you will need a bell, an athame, a red candle, a chalice, a pentacle, a small bowl or jar of salt, a small bowl of water, and symbols for the God and Goddess (statues/candles/items from nature, etc).

Light the red candle and incense. Ring the bell three times, and then say:
“Let it be known the circle is about to be cast.”

Beginning in the east, walking deosil, draw a circle around your available work space with the athame, saying:
“Here is the boundary of the circle of power
A protection that shall contain the power raised herein
Naught but love shall enter in
Naught but love shall emerge from within.”

Lower the tip of the athame into the water, saying:
“As water is life’s beginning
So salt is its end.”

Scoop three pinches salt into the water with the athame and stir deosil, saying:
“Combined, they bring forth new life.”

Draw a circle with the Holy Water, tracing the same circle you drew before with the athame. Then draw the circle with the incense, then the red candle.

Anoint yourself with Holy Water at the third eye, lips, throat, heart, and feet, saying:
“I consecrate myself, [magical name], in the names of the God and the Goddess.”

…..see this wonderful resource and website for the rest of this ritual and so much more!

THE GREEK, INDIAN, & CHINESE ELEMENTS —

THE GREEK, INDIAN, & CHINESE ELEMENTS — SEVEN ELEMENT THEORY http://ow.ly/x6UXB

This fantastic blog article is packed, I mean packed with tons of information, cross references, charts, the works…. simply fantastic! I highly recommend this for all and anyone!

The following is just the very beginning from a very reliable and academic source… the others are just subjects titles that she shares. You will thank yourself when you see all the research, work she’s done and all the information and resources she has brought together for all of us to enjoy and use in our personal live for various reasons…

THE GREEK ELEMENTS

The four classical elements were independently proposed by early Presocratic philosophers: water (Thales), air (Anaximenes), earth (Xenophanes), and fire (Heraclitus). Empedocles proposed that they all existed together in fixed quantities from the beginning, mixed and unmixed by Love and Hate. This allowed him to agree with Parmenides that Being never really changed.

Plato later conceived of them as consisting of atoms with the geometrical shapes of four of the five regular geometrical solids that had been discovered by the Pythagoreans but described by Plato (in theTimaeus). We now call these the Platonic Solids. Their surfaces consist entirely of regular triangles (3, the tetrahedron; 8, the octahedron; and 20, the icosahedron), squares (6, the cube), and pentagons (12, the dodecahedron). These are, of course, not the true shapes of atoms; but it turns out that they are some of the true shapes of packed atoms and molecules, namely crystals: The mineral salt(halite, NaCl) occurs in cubic crystals; fluorite (calcium floride, CaF2) in octahedrons; and pyrite (“Fool’s Gold,” iron sulfide, FeS2) in dodecahedrons [note]; etc. Aristotle lost Plato’s mathematical interest, discarded the geometrical treatment, and saw the elements as combinations of two sets of opposite qualities, hot & cold, wet & dry. Aristotle’s view was ultimately the accepted one all through the Middle Ages. [Note:  the white text on black background appears as a link. Alleged Satanism in the News

I too roll my eyes and think, “Here we go again.” while bracing for the public impact and damage to the pagan faiths. I love “The Wild Hunt” too for articles, resources and information. I really recommend any who follow my blog to also check out this blog and “The Wild Hunt” listed in this article. Thank you Sapphire Witch.

The Nemeton

When I saw the news piece on Miranda Barbour and her husband, I was disgusted by what they had done. When it was then added that she claims to the press that she’s a Satanist, I rolled my eyes and sighed. Seriously? It was so obviously some kind of attention seeking maneuver that I hoped officials realized that, too. True Satanists not only don’t murder people, but they don’t worship the devil, either. Later, as more details came out and she talked about killing bad people, my husband turned to me and said ‘Sounds like Dexter.’ (Dexter is a tv show about a serial killer who works for the police and kills bad people in his spare time, covering for himself; he is not a Satanist). Then I started to worry that not only were Satanists getting their beliefs potentially besmirched by this ridiculous game this girl was playing…

Conservation paleoecologist Jacquelyn Gill is interested in how landscapes change through space and time. You might recognize her blog, The Contemplative Mammoth, from reading her recent piece on “just-so stories”  — the entertaining (yet factually inaccurate) tales that people tell to explain the natural world. We enjoy Jacquelyn’s thoughtful narratives and discussions on a variety of topics, from the timescales of climate change to failed plant sex. Her writing is intelligent and accessible — a great mix to keep readers engaged.
